Add SMS group members
Availability depends on your account configuration and permissions.
Open the page
SMS → Manage Groups → Add Members. SMS access and Allow SMS Groups are required; file import also requires an administrator.
Add entries manually
The group must be valid. The Entries count updates when the text box loses focus and counts lines, including blank lines before filtering; the response count is the original line count. The form does not check that all ten remaining characters are digits. Review the source file carefully.
- Enter one entry per line in the Add Data Manually box, either Mobile,Name or just Mobile. Use a comma between number and name; example only: 2025550142,Alex Example. The Entries counter shows the entered line count.
- Choose Add Numbers to submit and change the group. The page says a maximum of 1,000 entries at a time; the form accepts fewer than 1,000 lines, so use batches of at most 999 and review the response.
- The import keeps the final 10 characters after stripping leading zeroes and accepts a remaining length of 10; confirm those characters are digits yourself. Confirm format and eligibility for your deployment; a response count is not necessarily an audit of every accepted entry.
Upload a CSV
- Use Drag File To Upload to select or drop a CSV with one number or Mobile,Name entry per line. Uploading is a live data operation; use only an approved file for the intended group.
- The import may be queued before the upload completes. Check its result before retrying to avoid duplicate work. The import may complete without adding members or sending a notification. Use a distinct simple filename with letters, digits, periods or hyphens; check the upload, notification and membership count before any retry. Use one, two or three CSV columns (number, name, optional extra) and keep records short. The import uses the final ten characters after leading-zero removal. Avoid malformed rows and long records; it does not validate all characters as digits. A successful upload notice alone does not establish imported membership.
