Every organization has some stellar-performers and it is true that these employees do outstanding work, bring significant business profits and contribute effectively to organizational growth. You being a manager search such rock performers and think your responsibility gets over here, right? But, you are wrong pal! Human being naturally feels good while they receive appreciation and also, it keeps their morale high and inspires them to perform better than before. Therefore, a manager should take care of his employees’ happiness and apply multiple methods to keep their mind fresh and enthusiastic. Now I would proceed with how you can synchronize entertainment with efficient work.
Don’t do much interference!
Don’t ask your employees for each little thing as it creates irritation in their head. Let your employees do some work the way they want. It doesn’t make them feel free only but also assures that they are trusted personalities.
I remember once I had been interfering very much in the professional matter of one of my best employees. She had three best employee traits actually – she was good at her work, a quick learner and collaborative with all her coworkers. Just because she had incredible business skills, I thought to spend much time with her but one day I caught her glazing over during a conference and noticed her staring outside again and again. Since I was her senior, so she couldn’t speak out a single word. But, I understood that my over monitoring attitude were causing negative impact so I immediately took over my this habit and made her work freely. Apart from this, I offered her some big responsibilities that I felt she could manage greatly. We met periodically as per schedule and trust me the outcomes were literally amazing.
Thus, I can say always be liberal with your employees up to some extent.
Involvement is required!
A constant monitoring will definitely trouble your employees but no connection with the team also impacts them adversely.
You know when I started working as a manager, I had less managerial skills. I am going to discuss a story here of that time. A college fresher joined my company just after completion of his degree, he wanted to discuss many issues with me but anyhow I left things for later and sometimes ignored just saying that I was busy. Within a few months, he left the job and joined a new organization. When I asked him the reason of leaving, he said – he was not getting proper guidance and due to this, he was unable to make himself grow. This incident taught me a lot that keeping employees free and not caring about what they want or what they are doing- somewhere develops a wrong image of company.
Therefore, it is important to keep a proper connection with employees time to time.
Take Help!
Since you are a senior, so, you can’t take help from your juniors, does such thought scratch your head?
You know many employees in the company ask for more work just because they want to learn as much as they can. If they don’t get hesitate before asking for extra work then why do you feel bad taking help from them especially when you are loaded with voluminous work? Don’t you think it is good for both? Always remember, unified team, brings the best results.
These are certain points that can keep you and your employees connected and tuned.
